Immigrants Aren't Taking Your Jobs

At least not the job you want

In addition to believing that immigrants are driving up the cost of housing (which isn’t true), JD Vance and other conservative populist retards think that if you just deport all the immigrants, every prime-age American man will have a job.

The fundamental premise of their argument is that there are only so many jobs, so it’s not fair that the immigrants get to steal them by working for lower wages. This would be true if all of the jobs were being filled. But they aren’t. It’s not even close.

Vance talks about hotels and restaurants in his interview.

So no, you would not see vanishing unemployment if you got rid of immigrants. The only thing you’d see are a collapse in productivity, skyrocketing prices, and a basically unsolvable economic crisis. But I guess that will all be cancelled out by less traffic in our most rural areas. A truly fair trade if I’ve ever seen one.

The reason that these seven million working-age males are out of work isn’t because of immigrants or “them”, whoever the fuck “they” are. It’s because they couldn’t land a white collar job for whatever reason (probably didn’t go to a good enough school or just plain isn’t smart enough), and now they don’t want to work in a damn dairy factory in 2024.

The idea that there’s an army of downtrodden white dudes ready to take these jobs is just nonsense. THEY AREN’T EVEN TAKING THE JOBS NOW.

There’s a reason why there’s a “white collar recession” and a “blue collar shortage”. More people want white collar jobs than there are white collar jobs available, hence recession. Less people want blue collar jobs than there are blue collar jobs available, hence shortage.

Indian Bronson and most other conservative populists are too retarded to grasp this, but Vance does. Just read Hillbilly Elegy.

It’s a real shame he’s abandoned the truth for political purposes.
